Sound sensitive

Had ear problems from first round of Tc chemo. Thought it was ear hairs gone?  Still have popping in ears , quiet as a church mouse here.  J

@Zoffiel I used to think that was the case with all boys in that age group but my daughter teaches grade 5/6 and doesn’t have this issue. Mind you, if she did she would tell them and they know that, but overall, they are okay. Maybe your class PD lesson needs to include some extra details. I wouldn’t cope and I feel for you. You might need to start spraying them with lemon glen 20.

@Blossom1961 I can smell gas leaks too. Im currently .struggling with groups of upper primary school boys who reek of arse. If they come in after lunch, I'm literally gagging. What the fuck have they been eating and why have they, apparently, been dropping wet ones in their undies. Gargh!

@Sister and @Zoffiel I am sorry you are sound sensitive but really happy that I am not alone. @Patti J I have always been extremely smell sensitive so doubt it could get worse. I tell everyone about gas leak smells that no one else can smell and they all think I am crazy until the gas problem gets worse. As for unwashed bodies, let’s not go there!

I am not sound sensitive since chemo. However, I  am extremely scent sensitive. It is awful going to shopping centres being able to smell unwashed bodies. 

There's so much noise around. I just thought it was me.

I can't stand noise any more.

 I'd rather listen to my car rattling itself to pieces than listen to the radio. Why is 'drive time' a thing? Why would anyone listen to what sounds like a pack of hyena slaughtering a wildebeast? What's with the manic laughter? Who enjoys that? Music neither soothes or energises me any more. It's just noise too.

 I turn the 'interactive soundtrack' at work off, generally using the excuse that someone on the spectrum was finding the whole business unbearable. That would be me. I had kids in the building yesterday who were carrying balloon sculptures with them. The sound of those fucking balloons being scrunched nearly gave me seizures. Coffee grinders in cafes...I just don't buy coffee anymore.

My world is getting smaller and smaller.

I should have said, I finished active treatment in October and am only on the blocker Herceptin. I have had the sound sensitivity since the start of the chemo AC-T May 2018.
