Sore armpit after surgery?

Is it a constant pain or it comes and goes? Three years on and I still get stinging and sometimes throbbing but it is fleeting and doesn't last. In particularly hot weather (I have lymphodema) sometimes I place a cold wet washer under my arm just to cool things down. It is bliss! <3
