Some advice please

Hi All,  I am probably worrying over nothing and hope that some of you brave ladies can help me.

Back in 2010 I had a full hysterectomy as i had a small carcinoma in my right overy.

Recently I have been feeling very tired and just not right and on Saturday I did a self examination and found a lump under my right arm, it seems to be a couple of centimeters in size.  I only found it because it was uncomfortable to lie on my side in bed.  Now i am getting pains under my arms, into my right breast and up the right side of my neck

I have made an appointment at the drs this afternoon but am a little worried.  Have any of you had these symptoms?

  • Had scan this morning and they tell me I have nothing to worry about, what a relief. x

  • Thank you so much, it's such a comfort to know there is someone who understands. Drs appointment went well even though he confirmed the lump under my arm and found a couple of small lumps in my breast. We have done some blood tests and my scan is booked for Wednesday. Will keep you posted x
  • I agree the sympotms vary, my arm ached and orginally thought I'd pulled a muscle. Took me a week to get up the nerve to see a doctor, the sooner the better for your own piece of mind. Until you have the tests you will worry yourself sick.

Just remember that even if the news is bad that the survival rate is so high these days and there is so much support and BCNA is one of the best places to get upto date information.

Good luck, thinking of you. x

  • Good Luck at the Doctors.

The sympotms can be SO varied. Some have pain (like me) others don't.Some havehave lumps in there breasts, armpit, nipple, above the breast, and anywhere at all around the breast (mine was in the 6 o'clock position alomst straight under my nipple near the crease of my breast.

You will probably be sent for a mammogram &/or ultrasound and possibly a biopsy if these tests whow something to see what it is.

There are other options except breast cancer, but breast cancer has to be ruled out.

Again Good Luck with you doctors appointment, I really hope for you it is nothing. but either way let us know, we are here to support you.
