So THAT"S why all the pain!

I have had so many tests and doctor's appointments that I think I must have paid for her new car by myself! But at least we have a reason for all that pain in my leg and why it is worse some days than others. I have an oedema and stress fracture and the beginnings of osteo....something. Rest is the cure but the cure won't be starting until next Monday as I have to go to work tomorrow! I have a seat to take with me and I will only be doing the serving from behind the till. The minions and Bob will have to do the rest! Oh, woe is me! How will they cope???!!!

But at least we now know!

  • Hey Lynn

I am sorry to hear about your leg problems, I hope you can find some relief from your pain. Try and rest up as much as you can. Once we are all feeling better we will have to catch up and have lunch.

  • Hi Lynn

Just read your blog! Poor you  and you've put up with it too! Hope you are resting. Does the doctor think it's the arimidex? As you know I had my mum stay and she has a fracture of L2 spontaneously just got terrible back pain in NZ. Am sure it's the femara the doctors in UK hadn't put her on supplements an old woman of 80 who already falls into the osteoporitic category man was I wild. Nearly ruined her whole trip.

Look forward to hearing all about it on Weds am.

  • Oh dear Lyn no wonder you were in pain standing 3 days a week in the shop.  I am sorry to read this news as it will take a while to heal.  I think you need to give up work and enjoy your crafts instead.  Give  yourself a chance for a while!

    See you tomorrow.

  • Well at least there is a reason - and why shouldn't you keep off the knee?  Great idea to stand less at work! The rest of them will cope somehow.

Leonie, I agree that the ol body is sluggish after Breast Cancer.  I am so stiff and tired and achey!! It is markedly worse since the radiation for me.

Well, we will just have to be on a GO SLOW?? haha

  • Hi Lynn,  Wow, I bet you feel relieved.  That's what I say,"So long as I know what I am dealing with - then I can cope".  I, like you, have had lots of tests.  My body is so sluggish.  Previous to chemo, I was a go-getter - Dragonboating, working full-time, personal training, walking, keeping my house and garden immaculate.  NOW, seven months after chemo I just have to think of any of these things and I feel tired.  I am off to see the Neurologist in Brisbane next week to get her opinion.  I am only 55 so have lots of good living still to do.  I hate being limited.  People keep telling me "It takes time for your body to heal".  I would like to know if these pains and stiffness are really only temporary and how can I assist the recovery.  Rest up as much as you can.
