So scared

I am scared, I have found another lump 2 weeks after having a lumpectomy. I found out the first lump was a grade 3 invasive HER positive. Everything the dr told me after grade three invasive cancer I blocked out. Is it normal to have a second lump come up after 2 weeks of surgery. Dr told me before surgery radiation is the treatment I would require. Now they have me I would need chemo, radiation and HRT. I am scared as to what to expect and am I overreacting with the second lump so close to the surgery site. Any advice would be so helpful . Will be seeing my dr tomorrow but unfortunately I can't relax or sleep. Any voice would help.

  • Thank you very much Donna. I am a bit more positive this morning.
  • Good luck today, I am sure it will be as the ladies say but keep my fingers crossed for you.

  • Hi Geirry63,

I also had a lump that was on my surgery site, ultrasound dx a seroma, which is fluid that fills in the surgery site. In otherwords the hole where they removed the cancer.  It is now 10 months later and it is still there, a hard mass between the lymph node scar and the breast scar. Blood also may fill the hole.

Very unlikely that it is anything else so soon after surgery.

All the best for you app today.

  • Thank you so very much for your message, I never overreact to things but unfortunately can't help it now. Your message has lifted me. I am straight off to the dr tomorrow morning, but knowing there is someone out there that knows and has felt the same fear I have now I hate to say it, it is somewhat comforting. Thank you again. I will post again after seeing dr. My fingers and toes are crossed for an all clear for you come April. Thanks again Kerrilee. I am so grateful you were on the site tonight. Gerry

  • I had 3 lumps in my left the largest was grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma and 10out of twenty nodes so had a mastectomy and node clearance in april. We to see my specialist 3weeks later he found a lump near the scar I started to panic he did an ultrasound it turned out to be a fatty mass. So hope that that is all yours is. I had 6 months chemo then 6weeks radation and now on tamoxifen for ten years. Ive got my first round of test in april since finishing my treatment I hope that its all clear. Try to stay positive it helps but if you need to cry just do it it helps to. Ive got my fingers crossed for you. Kerri
