  • I have a infection from my dressing when I had my op for nodes 2 weeks ago so that needs to be clear for them to start. I go back in 2 weeks I also need a port thing inserted aswell :/ I got information yesterday the types of chemo I'll have are packitaxel, trastuzumab (herception) that's one lot then the other is doxorubicin(a) and cyclophosphamide (c) I'm just reading the information sheets they gave me so lots of chemo to kill the nasties. They said my treatments will go for 6-7 months including radiation

Prior first chemo, I started myself physical and mentally prepared, I read a lot from here, which to start with, exercise, fluid, healthy food, juice, etc.

I was quite manageable for the 1st week after chemo, still shopping as usual, hair cut.... felt tired but ok to sleep, kept walking 2 times in a day, kept water (almost 3 litre/day and other juice, soup) ; however, last week, my white blood cell were too low and got fever, so I stayed in hospital for 4days,  I prepared my next round this Friday.

When will u start your chemo?  you have idea what sort of drug you are going to have and how many round?

  • Hi Liz

I think mine quite similar to yours, I was diagonised Nov, and surgery in Dec, my Path report, 15mm, grade 3, Er+HER2+, the size of tumor was small though, they found 1/3 lymph nodes got 0.34 micromet DCIS, yes, micromet, which could only read under microscope.  My doctor team had struggle to remove the whole log of lymph nodes or not, and finally they decide not to, but put a course of 6 chemo for me.  When I first met my Onco, he said 0.34 micromet actually it's nothing from their point of view, however, since grade 3, they still put chemo for me.

I had my 1st drip 7MAR, and 2nd will be this Friday,  (TCH)

As far as since I was diagonised, and up till now, I agreed with the Team, everyone is different and react different.

You are very good to come to this site, you can find a lot of information to share, everyone with different story, but walk the same path, we are not alone, and you will find a lot here to share.  Pink sisters here are all willing to share and hope everyone well prepare and ready for this battle.

    Take good care of yourself.

After 6round, another 6weeks radiation, continue 1 year round H-Herceptin, and 5 year hormone tablet - Tamoxifen.

    This will be my schedule.
