Ha ha your gaping hole reminds me of when we decided to redo our kitchen.
Out came the cupboards, sink carefully removed as we wanted to reuse, only to find that water had been leaking behind the cupboards.
No problem. House is steel framed clad with fibro so wall repair will be easy.
Right, now this is Derby. Neither hardware stores had gyprock in stock and probably would not have until the end of the month. So off to Broome we go to visit Bunnings only to find that gyprock has to be ordered in. Geez that was a wasted 440kms round trip. So we wait. Gyprock eventually arrives 3 weeks later. All up we had no back wall for six weeks. (No kitchen either).
The aged cats however kept coming in through the cat door which was a foot away from the non existent kitchen wall.
