So frustrated and anxious!!!
Hi BC sisters, sorry but please let me vent it out.
I was originally diagnosed BC (between stage 2-3 right breast, had a mastectomy, chemo, and radio) 5 years ago, and 10 days ago I had an annual checkup. The sonographer (very nice girl) found a suspicious thing on my one of lymph nodes near my right side collar bone. She consulted the doctor at the imaging/pathology place and told me that I should be contacted by my oncologist to have biopsy. I waited a couple of days but no contact so I was getting a bit optimistic about it; however, I contacted my oncologist just in case. Turned out (I don't know what happened and who is responsible but), they somehow slipped away my case!!!!
By the time I contacted the imaging/pathology company to book biopsy, they were all booked out so I have to travel further to have biopsy and wait another 10 days.... And my appointment with my oncologist now has to be delayed as well because the result from biopsy will not be on time. Total of 3 weeks I have to wait till I know what is actually going on!!
I know that I live in a regional area (Tasmania) but still feel a bit neglected....
Now I am very anxious and angry. 😖 BC sisters, sorry for complaining but I am frustrated😫

I tend not to say anything on the spot and stew it over. And let all of you listen to my rant... I will speak up this time and make sure my pony ride going well, only these BC ponies🐴 , they have an attitude, don't they? Just like real ponies😅
- Oh the stuff ups I've had along the way...I've lost count. Once in hospital, I had a Social Worker wearing a rather startling purple eyeshadow, poke her head into my room. She was told that I lived alone at home and was single. Well...I asked her if my husband of forty years had recently divorced me, (that is since yesterday) or if he'd pipped me to the post in the dropping off our perches race. My daughter and her partner of nine years, with whom we house shared and my four fur babies were also erased. She blinked (rather vividly) and looked at her notebook again and read out my full name and hospital number. I wondered what other cock ups were being made behind my back. Sheessshhhh!!!

Most people are nice here but they just don't have enough resources unfortunately, and we are the one hit by this kind of things. Just like they have just built a big hospital in Burnie but I still have to travel to Launceston for this biopsy😩
But I have decided that I will have a brunch and make it as a date with my daughter!😙

That must have been awful. Living in rural area does have a disadvantage in Health system. Hope it will change one day.
thank you again and hope you have finished your treatment and doing well😊 but if not , I am here to listen too! - And then they wonder why we are constantly checking and double checking appointment dates and who has been sent the results of any tests. I've had a few door bitches (of both sexes) get snakey when I want to know the who what when where's "It's all under control. Please wait until we contact you *** Sniff. Eye roll*** ' Yeah. Right. Until it isn't and you don't. Never feel bad about venting when you are feeling besieged. And always remember this is your pony and you can ride it like you want to. MXX
- So frustrating! 3 weeks is a long time when you are waiting for test results. I live and am being treated in Melbourne but my parents live in Launceston so I feel your pain. My dad is amazed at how fast everything happens 'on the mainland' because wait times for everything in Launceston are so long. It's not really good enough :neutral: Am hoping for positive results for you xx
- Venting about stuffups in the system are totally allowable, @Benmamy - the same thing happened to me late last year. My biopsy should have been done in Nov & ended up being done on Xmas Eve. I am rural too. grrrr
