So Annoying

Hi everyone hope you are all fairing better than me at the moment. Had my mastectomy 3 weeks ago and was just starting to feel sort of normal well not so sore, had it drained last Tuesday and then it built up again and on Monday it was so painful and i had a temp could hardly move then rediscovered lovely drugs (neurofen & panadol) as hubby is on crutches with gout and I am too sore to drive had to wait til yesterday to go and have it drained again, thanks to a lovely neighbour who drove me, but find that it is so painful again today that BC nurse thinks that I may have an infection, so back to the dr's 2 morrow to try and get to the bottom of it, lovely neighbour taking me again. We are a funny pair trying to look after each other at the moment, as I say thank goodness for the drugs or it is just too painful to move.

I go to see the oncolgist about chemo on the 4th April with a possible start on 6-7th. I can't believe where this trip has taken me in the dr report it says that all this came from a report of a 2cm x 2cm cancer and has 4 operations later ended up being 4.50cm with micromatastasis in one lymph node....what a ride.

I know there are some of you out there doing it really tough and i feel for you from the bottom of my heart.

Regards Jacqui

  • Thank you for your reply, I could not handle our 4x4 at the moment. I am just hoping that if it is an infection that it doesn't interfer with the healing as they won't do the chemo until it is healed apparently, I wanted to start straight away to get it over and done with but nope 5 weeks was the earliest, that is why I will be so upset if this infection or whatever holds me up, I was told it will probably be 6months course and I had worked out that I should probably finish the same week my second grandchild is born so something to look forward to.

As to my photography wellll.....I cut heads off very often, oh well maybe not that bad now with digital, mainly I just like taking photos of family and animals, I have a granddaughter which when I see her I tend to be very snap happy and she is 2 but loves posing for me. I wam thinking of doing a course but find it difficult living out of town to go out at night once I get home from work, might be lucky enough to fit it in before I go back to work.

Have you had a prothesis fitted yet? I am unable to stand the soft berli bra just at the moment so it makes going out difficult for me as I have one fairly large saggy boob and one flat boob, although last week i was able to wear it and even went out to dinner with my work friends, so once this whatever it is(infection ??haematoma??, is under control I will be able to wear it again.

It will be good to have contact with someone going through the chemo at the same time we can compare notes.

What do you like taking photos of? I think if I wasn't so sore that I would have been driving by now but at the moment I can't even touch parts of my chest. Did you have the axillary clearance as well?

I am not real good at navigating this web site yet how did you see my blog...just so I can see other peoples.

Well off to have some more drugs so I can be able to get my husband some lunch. Hope to talk again soon.

    Kindest regards,

    Jacqui

  • Oh Jacqui I hope its not an infection but if it is they'll get onto it and get it fixed asap!  I too had my mastectomy 3 weeks ago and am jut starting to feel human again - driving a little but boy - I struggle with a round about!  It's certainly a ride alright isn't it? I start chemotherapy next week so we'll be going through this around the same time.  I notice in your hobbies you like photography.  So do I.  What sort of photography do you do?

HOpe you are feeling better soon,

    Amanda
