I had a seroma for a long time (drained repeatedly, filled repeatedly) and the sloshing was alarming (there was a LOT of fluid there!). There is natural concern about manually draining in regard to the risk of introducing infection, and at this stage, it's likely that at least some will naturally drain. But keep it in everyone's mind - it's terribly obvious to you but not so much to busy nursing staff.
