Slightly terrified and all a bit of a shock

It's all moving along quickly so I hope your surgery date will be soon.I had a mastectomy and I was in hospital for 3 days- coming home with a drain in.Painwise and recovery wise,it wasn't too bad.I was driving and back at work after 3 weeks.Take button down the front pjs and a loose fitting shirt to hospital with you.Ask your breast care nurse to order the free Berlei post op bra and soft form from BCNA.You won't be able to wear it straight away but it will be there for you.Singlets or stretchy camis are good after surgery.A mastectomy can be confronting on so many levels but you do adjust.I haven't had reconstruction but that is an option these days.You are probably still getting your head around the diagnosis but when you are ready,ask any questions.Have you ordered your"my journey kit" from this network yet?
