The day started well with a planned visit to my onc, and I come out of his office in tears,my tumor marker is high and I have a lump in the other breast,so now begins a barrage of tests starting tomorrow with a bone scan.Monday CT scan and Tues mammo and ultrasound.I had mammo and ultrasound in Feb and they were good and bloods were good 5 months ago,so maybe if there is more cancer we got it early????? I'm devastated do I have to do it all again? My daughter is also sitting HSC at the moment so I have keep details to a minimum.I can barely function,I just don't know what to think.......

So sorry you are having to go through this stress! My son is also sitting his HSC so I can imagine how hard it must be and that you don't want to stress your daughter... HUG HUG HUG. Sounds like your onc has been very good at getting things scheduled very quickly. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results and that everything is ok. When was your original diagnosis? Grade 3 stage 2 and 2 / 19 nodes.Did 6 months of chemo then was told it had spread to bones so got 2 nd opinion and they say it hasn't .I just don't know what to think anymore.When were you dx?I go back to onc on 28 th god know what I will do till then???? We're here for you darll! You are reeling with shock at the moment as this was the last thing you expected. This sort of news is never good to get at any time, but right at the time your daughter's doing the HSC?? That sucks! I admire you very very much for not telling your daughter at such an important time of her life- just goes to show what a thoughtful and great mum you are! A Champion mum for being her daughter first. Good on you. But perhaps I think it would help if you had talked to your partner or husband about what's happened. Don't keep it all bottled up - you need support at this moment. If it helps (and I hope it does) my advice to you is mainly around how to approach these new tests. Cliched as this sounds (but it's not meant to be) try not to panic. I know it's hard not to, try to think as positive as possible...you are already doing that by reflecting on your earlier tests which were all good. Try to remember this as you undergo the new tests. Perhaps repeat this message in your head while the tests are going on...?? Whatever works for you. For me positive mantra's like that and positive thoughts helped heaps. Keep that in mind all the time and go through the process of these new tests. I think you have a very good oncologist who is obviously proactive and has actioned this very quickly - which is excellent! Trust in him, think positively as possible while you have the tests and try not to panic. Remember we're all here for you so do blog and let us know how you're going. Do you live in Melbourne at all? I am sorry to hear you are back on the BC roundabout with tests, scans etc. It is a terrible time...very stressful indeed. I suppose at least once you have all the tests and scans done you will know what you are dealing with...perhaps it is a benign lump and simply arthritis in bones...who knows? I know it is hard not to worry though...it's just not fair! I was told that bone scans can be quite tricky to read and diagnose. Initially I was told that I didn't have a spread to the bones...but eventually after further investigation I was told that it had spread in Feb this year. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on with your tests. We are all here if you need to 'talk', vent etc.. I live in Adelaide...where do you live?
