Shattered :(
The day started well with a planned visit to my onc,
and I come out of his office in tears,my tumor marker is high and I have a lump in the other breast,so now begins a barrage of tests starting tomor...

I had the same thing happen to me...although it wasn't an intern who told me it was the oncologist....happened when I was an inpatient - had to have an ultrasound and low and behold - spots on the liver! What the hell!
So then I had to have a pet scan and a CT scan to see what the hell it was.
Thankfully it was not cancer, however it was something I had never heard of - basically for a lack of a better description - it was like a strawberry birthmark but smaller and on my liver?? Go figure?? How this had not been picked up earlier despite the many numerous tests is beyond me...but I completely understand how angry and upset you are.
This intern should not have said something to you without consulting with your onc....I'd be ringing my onc tomorrow and demanding to speak to him/her and ask what the hell is going on??
Do try to consider that this might be something else and not necessarily the big C.....ring the onc tomorrow, tell them how upset you are and your need to understand what is exactly going on, tell them you need some answers not more questions.....keep me posted darl.
