Seroma

Question

Hey ladies was just wondering how often you had to have seroma removed from your Mastectomy scars? I am 2 weeks after op and have had it done once and going again tomorrow. I start chemo on tuesday so I was also wondering if they do it after you start chemo?

I had to have a seroma drained twice a week for 5 weeks post op.I would think they'll still drain it while you are on chemo but your oncologist will make that decision. Good luck for Tuesday.

Hi Erin.     I had to have a seroma drained 2 weeks after my mastectomy and again 2 weeks after that. Fortunately the wound site settled then and I didn't have to return.    All the best.   Sue
