My apologies for never logging onto this site. I have been going through many emails today and notice quite a few posts on here. Well it is nice to know we are not alone.
I am now two years from my diagnoses with IBC. I currently still have the four week injection of Zoladex (to close down my ovaries). I believe I will continue to have this injection till July 2013. At present I'm doing okay but have lots of aches & pains which I believe is from the Zoladex. It is more my depression that I am trying to overcome for now. I have good days & bad days.
They never gave me a portacath and I did sometimes wonder why. I believe my veins were very easy to attack so I guess that is why they never gave me one. I also live in Brisbane and my treatment has been at the PA hospital. The Choices program based at the Wesley is excellent, so if you haven't already contacted them, please do as you don't need to be having treatment at the Wesley hospital to access Choices.
I am often on Facebook so if anyone wants to be my friend (lol)and talk more (private messages), I'm ok with that. You will find me under Paula Gibson Draper.
It's lovely to see more and more come to this group although IBC sucks to be here. I will try to log in more often. Love & hope to all of us. xxxx Paula
