Second round
Chemo 2 - done.
Side effects nothing like last round (so far) thanks to a halving of the steroids. Can walk, talk, read and write today - so much better ;). Still have some steroids and Emend and a Nuelasta injection but can cope with that.
Dr was great, checked me from head to toe then laughed at the bump under my arm - "healing from beast surgery silly billy but glad you asked me, now what else can you feel thats not normal to you, what questions in your diary?" Not too many as I had seen him so often.
Did ask about how kids get on with this stuff answer was "Awful we hit them harder, but their cells regenerate so they bounce back soooo much faster than an adult". If a wee one can do this, so can I!
My hair is malting fast. I drove home from chemo yesterday with the car window wide open. My husband asked if I was hot, "we do have air conditioning you know", I know but I want to feel the wind in my hair before it all malts away. "Well" he says " Keep on malting, I'll just vacuum it up this weekend when I clean the car", then he wound down his window. FYI my husband is bald, he thinks hair is over rated on anyone :)
Its the little things that make you smile that make it all better.
