Second Chemo
I seem to be coping pretty well with the chemo so far.
The second round of chemo was a bit different. I had to give myself an injection (!) called Neulasta the day after I had the chemo. I wasn't sure about that because I had never given myself an injection before, but it was easy. The Neulasta is to boost my white blood cell count because it dropped so far after the first round of chemo and the oncologist didn't want it dropping that far again. I will have to have it after the next 2 rounds too. I didn't feel as nauseous this time....still a bit tired and the taste buds have gone on strike again (and they have been out of action for longer this time). The Neulasta gave me some joint pain for a few days but that quickly passed. The only new thing that I had was some numbnesss in the ends of my fingers! I felt like I had been doing a lot of sandpapering and sandpapered the ends of my fingers off!! Not a nice feeling but they seem to have got some of the feeling back again now and apparently that is a common side effect of the chemo.
Anyway, 2 down 2 to go - I'm halfway there!!!!!! Yay!!!!!! and all finished by the end of the year (then the lovely Tamoxifen for the next 5 yrs)
Til next time....keep smiling :)
