Hi Sandy...I had a reaction to Taxotere as well. Thought at first it was from my anxiety so I didn't want to bother the nurses...they were busy with patients (apparently I forgot I was patient too LOL!). Luckily my sister was with my and said that I didn't look well. The nurse came over and stopped the chemo and my oncologist came in and ordered 2 different drugs which I took before each of my treatments.
As for the veins...it is a hard one. In addition to chemo (which I finished in Aug) I have to have 12 months of Herceptin. I had number 6 of 17 yesterday and the it took 2 nurses 8 goes to get a vein. What should be an hour stay turned into 2 and half hours so I decided to get a port. Not ideal...but it will make everyones life a bit easier.
