Second Brain Tumour Not Treatable (now)
I recently posted that I had secondary breast cancer with a brain tumour removed in October, I saw the Radiologist & he told me I have another one on the other side. Well I saw my Surgeon last week with a friend & have been told there's nothing he can do except monitor it with MRI to check if it grows. If he removed it or if they did radiation on it it's in the area where I would have permanent damage to my right leg. It possibly has been there all along but too small to be detected so I'm booked in for an MRI at the end of the month (they are so booked up). Now I worry whether it's grown & if other little tumours have popped up as he said some people end up with 30 tumours, in that case they have to do full brain radiation which causes brain damage. My friend & I went armed with questions but afterwards couldn't believe neither of us expected to hear 'permanent damage' & didn't ask to what extent that damage would be. He said if I have anything happen to the right leg to go hospital & there's a very minimal chance of seizures. So a long wait for answers to my next results, it's the outcome I wanted & he was upbeat about it, no treatment for now & he was very interested in my trip to London & told me to go book in more concerts as I left. :D <3

- @arpie No I'm just on the Mornington Peninsula & it's about a 10 min drive there, I can understand radiation being very busy but not the MRI machines. Not to worry, as it's a little longer to wait it might show up any extra nasties that wouldn't be picked up a couple of weeks earlier. Hopefully it's all the same size, no change & I'm not worried until I go to get results. All the best to you and all going through treatment. x

That's a bugger having to wait for the MRI .... are you in a bigger town/city or do you have to travel to get to one? I would have to travel to either Port Mac or Newcastle - but can stay at the Rotary Lodge on the hospital grounds for minimal cost - so if I end up having one, I'll turn it into a mini break away.

Sadly one of the girls I met & travelled with passed away with ovarian cancer a couple of weeks ago. The other had a major heart attack & has been in hospital sedated & doesn't know her best friend has died. I'm very glad I went now, everything fell into place for me to go but I could never have expected those lovely glitter ladies would end up worse than me. It's hard when the Surgeon says book an MRI for 2 weeks & when you book they say they can't get you in for quite a while. Then a wait to see the Radiologist for results, then again I can't complain as there are countries who don't have MRI machines & people die of cancer. Fingers crossed it doesn't grow.
- I don't know what music you like but I'm on my way home from a wonderful concert and I reckon the good feeling will last for days and days. We can't control everything in our lives and have to deal with the bad stuff, but we can make sure there is time and space for the stuff we love and which sustains us. Best wishes.
