It sure is a crazy roller coaster ride we are on. I was diagnosed on the 9th May with a grade 3, 3cm invasive ductal tumour. ER PR and HER2 +ve. Sentinel node was clear so no further nodes were removed. I had 3 surgeries, lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy, re excision of margins and then a port a Cath insertion. Then I started chemo last Thursday.
I am also a cancer nurse so I know all of the awful horror stories.
I was exactly the same in the beginning. So frightened and worried for my 3 girls. But since then I have realised that although it is a long hard road we are on, we come out better people at the end.
Early breast cancer is treatable and curable and I have no intention of dying from this disease.
It will get better, the first couple of weeks are the worst.
