Scanniversary
The nerves have really started to kick in! To be honest I was a bloody cranky bitch today. Felt sorry for my husband and daughter, but only fleetingly. First year scanniversary tomorrow and it’s doing my head in. Trying so hard to think positively but can’t help thinking what if.... Also worried about how I’m going to deal with the mammo when my boob is still so tender especially at the scar point. I know we all have to go through this and I have drawn some positives from previous posts. Sometimes it just helps to acknowledge your fears with others who understand.

- Wonderful news @Piccme!!! Thank you so much for letting us know Sophie. I haven’t experienced lymphodema so can’t give you any tips but I’m sure many of the other ladies will share their experience. My appointment today was my 6 month “mini check-up” - I have the big one with all the scans in August. The surgeon had a good feel of my healthy breast and implanted one (I had a nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate implant in August 2016) and was happy. You will sleep well tonight! If the radiologist isn’t concerned with the resolution of your mammogram and ultrasound take that as a great result. Take care, Jane x

- Thanks @Hopes_and_Dreams, mammo and ultrasound looked clear! Yeah, celebrating that however the ultrasound showed quite a bit of scar tissue (to be expected I guess) but also lymphodema of the boob. Not sure what I’m supposed to do about that, if anything and if this is the precursor to lympdema in the arm. Perhaps a question that others on the network might be able to help out with. I was told that while everything looked clear the scar tissue and odema did make it difficult to get a really clear picture. The radiologist wasn’t concerned so I’m just focusing on that. I booked my 1st year Mammogram/ultra sound last Friday. Its not till the 20th March with visit to Surgeon on the 28th. But its all I seem to be thinking about at the moment.
1st of March is the anniversary of my visit to the GP some how knowing what I had. Only good thing about it is how fast this year has gone.
