Saying HI!

Hi everyone!  Great to be a part of this online community.  I'm from Brissy. I was diagnosed breast cancer in 2010, then with bone metastases 2013, and have been riding the rollercoaster since. Still work in a busy, demanding job 4 days a week (which at times does proves challenging of late), recently exited of a clinical trial - bone mets have been stable, but sadly I now have an enlarged node on my windpipe which is outside of trial protocol. Don't miss those nasty fulvestrant injections, but have started Xeloda. Staying strong, staying positive.

Nice to meet you all :)

  • So nice to hear you are in touch with your dad, bless you both x

  • Hi Vix

Crumbs, to date you've had a twisted road to travel with breast cancer and from your post it sounds like you've got a great medical team looking after you.  Hoping that Xeloda is working well!

Pleased you've popped in here to say Hello and I am sure you will garner lots of support of others travelling a very similar road.

Onwards and upwards from here.  Take care

    Christine xx

  • Good to hear you are still trundling along in life ok. My dad whom I had never met was diagnosed with the bone cancer 14yrs after he had prostate cancer cured. I have since met him and we talk on the phone a bit and although sometimes tiring of his treatment, he is still hanging in there and doing ok too. He is 76.

  • Hi Vix,

Sorry to hear about your bone mets. I am very similar to you. I had breast cancer in 2012, then bone mets diagnosed this year. Trying to keep strong and positive, but there are days which are very challenging.

    Keep fighting.
