Hi everyone

I saw my surgeon a couple of weeks ago and asked him for a saline implant.  I was ready to make my case to him if he was going to recommend a silicone one.  But he basically just said OK and that it's been three years since he last put in a saline one.

I'm having the op at the end of the month and will report back Tracey once it's all settled down.

I am about to change over from my tissue expander and I am having the same thoughts.  I'm not sure which way I will go.  Part of me wasn't going to go with a reconstruction, but I am big busted (even though I had a reduction when I had the xpander put in) and I was having a lot of pain in my neck, back and shoulder.  When I went to a different surgeon (first one told me it was a waste of time with me being advanced) he told me it needed to be done as I shouldn't have to go through other pain along with anything else I might have to go through.

I am still unsure which way to go.  I think I prefer the thought of saline, as after all I am really only after the bump and some weight so that the other pains go.

I don't have any implant advice, I just wanted to admire your Starfleet Command user pic!  :)

I had a latissimus dorsi reconstruction so the tissue expander is sitting between the chest and the back muscles.  I had it done in January and it hasn't needed to be topped up since then so I'm not really sure how much saline is actually in it.  It doesn't have as much "give" as my natural breast, but almost does.  It's soft and comfortable to sleep on, etc, but if I poke around deep enough I can feel the resistance of it.  All up, it's not real but it's close enough for me.
