Saline or Silicone?
I'm going to have to make a decision in a couple of months when my reconstruction is due to be finished and my tissue expander gets swapped out for a breast implant. Do I go saline or silicone? I've...
Hi Tracey,
Thanks for the update. I had been wondering how it all went. I was following this blog, as I'm also going down the same path as you, Joe and Helen. I'm still at the expander stage, so very interested in all you have to say about the exchange and implants. I'm glad you are happy with the saline implant. A friend of mine had saline implants done about 15 years ago, at the height of the saline verses silicon debate. She didn't have a mastectomy, but was board flat. Her results were excellent, and she has been very happy with her choice and says they feel natural. can you feel a sloshing sensation? I only ask this, as I can certainly feel that with the tissue expanders with the 200mls that I had put in during my first surgery. I can only really feel this on my right breast, as it is now 6 weeks since the expander was put in. With my emergency surgery to evacuate the large blood clot 3 weeks ago, I'm still noticing some tightness and swelling on the left side, so no sloshing sensations.
Love Chris xx
