Everything you are feeling is quite normal and understandable. Breast cancer is such a huge shock to your system both physically and emotionally. Be very kind to yourself at this time and don't expect too much. I know it can be frustrating when you're used to being very active but think of it as a much needed rest time. As Trina said, try a gentle walk in the sunshine, share how you are feeling with those closest to you, and use this site to connect. (I found it very helpful in my darkest days.) Also, don't knock back any help that is offered. I found it hard to accept people's offers as I was used to being so independent. I think that was a mistake.
As for your husband, no he probably doesn't fully understand what you're going through. I don't think all men do. Perhaps try being a little more frank with him. Let him know that you are in pain and it isn't possible for you to do everything you did before. Ask him to help out a bit more with the kids. Chances are he will be more than happy to do what he can. He probably just doesn't realise exactly how bad you are feeling both physically and emotionally.
And perhaps you could ask your nurse or doctor about the Look Good Feel Good program. I think it is done in country areasas well as the city. It's sort of a make-up class for women with breast cancer. You learn how to deal with issues associated with cancer treatment plus I understand they give out a lot of free, high quality cosmetics. That's another thing I regret saying no to, actually.
Anyway, you take it easy on yourself. This is a tough time, no doubt about it. I will be thinking of you and hoping you feel a little better soon. Janet :)
