Round two

So nice to hear from you.  We have just come home from Yeppoon - had a couple of days with my family.  Very enjoyable and kept my mind off things.  I hope your Xmas time was also enjoyable.   I did a lot of appointments, investigations etc last week.  Full on and very tiring.  I have now come down with a sore throat and lots of coughing.  My immune system is bugg.......ed.  It concerns me how my body will handle chemo.  My new "lump" was found on my regular mammo and ultrasound - actually on the ultrasound.  It was on the same side as my previous BC but in a lymph node right up in my armpit.  At this stage there doesn't appear to be any sign of BC anywhere else - from the bone scan.  Still awaiting the results of the body scan.  So I can probably say that I most likely don't have any secondaries.  My surgeon was very concerned as the lymph node was full of tumour and it had burst out of it - so I am prepared to be hit by heaps of treatment to catch any of the little buggers that may be lurking in my body. I have been changed over to Armidex immediately and am awaiting appointments in Brisbane with the Radiation Oncologist and the Medical Oncologist.  At this stage I should commence Radiation by late January.  I have been extremely lucky that the surgery to remove the lymph node was performed brilliantly and my arm movement is good.  My surgeon is concerned that the radiation in the armpit may cause some lymphodema but I am hopeful that I can avoid that .  I look after myself pretty well with massages etc etc.  Don't ever be worried about asking personal questions - this is where we can "let it all out".  Are you back in Bundy.  We have our "second family" in Bundy and also our racehorse is stabled and trained there.  We were hoping on going down to see all including the new racehorse but if the rain keeps up we might have to reconsider.Keep in touchXLeonie
