Hi Joy
I had a great time in Hobart, we all had an enjoyable journey on a comfy bus, and the newly diagnosed ladies who attended learnt heaps- which is what it is all about!
I think they gain a lot of confidence too, talking to us long term survivors. BCNA is marvellous facilitating Forums, Summits etc.
I laughed when I read about your comment reagrding family altercations etc.
Nearly 1 year after I had completed my treatment (during which time I had held it all together as best I could, for the sake of all those around me) I went to the fridge and saw that my dearest hubby had returned some ham on a plate and left it uncovered. I very nicely, said to him about it that it will dry out- he erupted saying "I can't do anything right" then as quickly said "Oh my God how can I say that when you have been through so much". I retorted that I was making a mountain out of a mole hill and was not some princess and all I wanted was life to return back to "normal". Many tears ensued, while we hugged each other for a long time that day and the next day we felt exhausted but were both better mentally.
Should have done it ages ago! So don't be hard on yourself, or those around you, xx
