Thanks for following up on me. I have just arrived home not long ago after a 6 hour stint at the hospital. I didn't have a very easy time of it today. They can only use one arm and the vein they used last time is no good now and they had trouble finding another suitable one. It was a long slow process because the vein they used was smaller and it was uncomfortable.
I had an appointment with oncologist prior to treatment and the receptionist stuffed up which had me waiting for an hour running me late for treatment. When I got to the treatment area I had another wait of an 11/2. After the treatment and before I went home I ducked into the loo and all of a sudden I had blood spurting from the vein all over me and on the floor. I nearly passed out. All in all as you can see it was not a very nice experience.
The oncologist has organized for me to have PICC insterted prior to my next round. I was thinking I was going to be excited about being half way through this chemo journey but I feel a bit shattered. Tomorrow I will be happier I am sure.
Having shared all this - it was still doable.
Love
Joy xx
