Round 3 Chemo - Day 4
Hi All
Well it is a brilliantly beautiful day up here in Cairns, Far North Qld. The rain has finally disappeared and the kids can run around outside once more! School holidays are now upon us for the next 2 weeks.
I am now into day four of my third chemo round (thank god no more FEC!). Feeling less sickly but still quite fatigued. I seem to be suffering more from that this time than in previous rounds - however, I have just made up some of my 'magic juice' so hoping that kicks in shortly. (Magic juice is freshly squeezed granny smith apples, pineapple juice, celery, beetroot and carrot juices). Highly recommend it!
My veins were a lot more problematic this chemo round. It took 3 tries to get a good vein the day before (blood test) and then 7 goes on Thursday to find one for chemo! I am covered in purple bruises. But they tell me that because I am changing drugs next round (T) they can use the hands instead. Oh joy!
Otherwise, taking things slowly and trying not to get too down about it all. Although I am now halfway it still feels like such a mountain to climb on these days.....but chin up, tomorrow is another day and I am sure to be feeling a little brighter on the inside.
Take care all and wishing you speedy recoveries and good health, wherever you are!
