Round 2 begins!!!!

Hi lovely ladies, I haven't been on here for a while, I have finished my Radiation just before Xmas had some nasty burns and skin breakdowns but all healed now. I went for my 6 month checkup last week and they have decided the other lump has to come out, ( they were waiting to see if Radiation shrank it ) so it's back into Hospital on Friday the Surgeon has told me he is going to take more tissue than normal out just to be sure so I will have quite a disfigurement there , the worst part is having to wait for results again but all you ladies out there know what that's like, I'm trying to stay positive but really I am terrified I escaped Chemo the first time but I don't think I'll be as lucky this time if it's bad news, reading your blogs you all seem so strong I hope I can be too... Wishing all of you the best Maggs

  • Hi Chris thanks for your support, I am really praying that i am in that lucky majority, but if not we all do what we have to do don't we, it's just nice to talk to someone who understands all the emotions we go through. I had a comment from a family member of " what are you worried about you've been through it before ", they really just don't understand. I will keep you posted on my results. Love Maggsxx
  • Hi Maggs, so sorry to hear you have to have more surgery, what a bugger. I agree, that the worse bit is the waitng for results, but remember, that 9 out of 10 lumps are benign. Once you have already been through breast cancer, it is hard to think you might be in the lucky majority, but it does happen. My second lump, discovered again accidently on ultrasound, 9 months after my first mastectomy, turned out to be benign, even though the radiologist insisted on a core biopsy as it looked suspcious. I remember that long wait for results. I was so convinced that I had cancer in the other breast, that I was almost planning my next chemo, and grumbling about having to lose all my new curly hair that was just about 2 cm long. I will be thinking of you on Friday, and wish you well. Love Chris xx
