Right unilateral mastectomy with tram recon, now chemo awaits
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse!!
I was diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer, grade 2, on the 28th June, I had a unilateral right sided mastectomy with tram reconstruction on the 19th July, all went well with no cancer in my lymph nodes. I saw my breast surgeon one week post-op who told me that my histology reports had come back and show that I am HER2+, OE+ and PR+, now I have to undertake a regime of chemo, herceptin and tamoxifen. (start 3rd sept)
I can't believe that all this has happened in such a short space of time, its still feels quite surreal.
