Hi Jules, it is 3 years since I was diagnosed. Nothing showed at all on a mammogram, but a 4mm tumour showed on ultrasound. On lumpectomy, 6 days later, it was found to be very aggressive and 21mm, with a very small margin. I also debated having a second re excision, but decided against that and went for the mastectomy instead, as my boobs were not large and 2 lumpectomies would have made a mess. I was also able to avoid radiation treatment having the mastectomy, so it made reconstruction an easier choice. None of my lymph nodes were affected, ( I had 10 removed).
