results are in!

well, saw oncologist today and the brain MRI i had on friday showed a dramatic improvement since the one on 1/6/11. We don't know if it was the radiotherapy or the back up chemo drugs (i suspect and combination) which has led to this great result BUT WHO CARES??? It is working. We are going to stay on this pill regime of xeloda/tykerb as it seems to be working in regard to the rest of the body also. Skin rashes on my legs and fingernail bed infection (on big toes & some fingers so far) will need to be managed as well as the fatigue, but at least i don't have nausea or too much tummy upset issues (just the odd 'bad day' there)

So now Steve is whinging he will probably have to buy me a xmas pressie now it looks like I'll be around a while yet!! LOL

And we are planning a holiday to the west after next school holidays, can't wait!!!

    Hey Sam, congrats on the results, that's great news (and LOL about Steve -- I bet he gets you the biggest bestest pressie ever! ;).

    Rest rest and rest, I suppose you feel you've had enough, but it does help.

    Great news and who cares what is working so long as it is!  Glad to hear you are so far avoiding the tykerb belly...  

    I too am keeping on top of nail bed infections - I look like Edward scissorhands on some days!  But hey - nail beds schmail beds... those pesky spots are getting smaller! 

    I'd be wishing pretty big for Chrissy now - and Daina - I say blow the pink and bring on something sparkly ;-)
