My oncologist told me I was in menopause, but couldn't confirm if it would be permanent. That's why we decided on removing the ovaries. It's only a day in hospital apparently. She tested my eostrogen levels by a blood test before I started chemo which showed very high levels. She said I was no where near menopause and I ended up having a period on the day after my second chemo. I didn't have any more after that, and when she repeated the blood test last Tuesday, the eostrogen levels were at menopause levels. With my last tumour being over 80% ER positive, I'll be glad to have the ovaries gone. I was just thinking how weird it is that all this stuff seems so normal to me now. A 'new normal' for all of us girls I suppose!! Lots of love xx Jane
