Results are in.

Well the winner is  Chemotherapy, followed by Radiation therapy and then Tamoxifen. So the good news is no need for second operation, wounds have healed well and I AM ALIVE.  I have to admitt that I was okay with the idea of Radiation therapy and that now having to have Chemo as well,  was a bit of a shock, but it is what it is, the next 6 months are going to be a roller coaster of emotions but I can and will come through it, I am lucky to have a supportive family and friends, not to mention a very big THANK YOU to all the BCNA members who have replied to my blog enteries on line and given there support and words of encouragement.

    Hi Hopefull, sorry to hear that you need chemo as well as radiotherapy, but it is good that you do not need more surgery. At least with chemo and radiotherapy, you are throwing everything at this cancer, and you will be ok. I didn't have the radiotherapy, but I did have extra surgery, lumpectomy followed by a mastecomy, and then 4 rounds of chemo. That all finished over 5 months ago, and it is hard to believe that it is all now behind me. It is hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel before you begin, but the time did go quickly. I was also very lucky and didn't get bad side effects from the chemo, so I hope that you too can have an ok time with it. All the best with the next stage of your cancer journey. Love Chris xxx

    Good luck Hopefull , I know what you mean , but trust me you can do it. I am on my day 11 post  first chemo and doing well. Just remember be kind to yourself , ask and accept help when offered, rest when you need too and keep looking at the positive side of all this, which I know is hard to find somedays , But you are stronger than you think .     hi hopeful,

     thank you for the post. good luck with it all.

     my advice is take time to adjust to changes, and how your body reacts to treatments.

    they can take a toll, but you WILL get through it, and as jo says, taking it day by day, is the best way.
