Hi Kazza, I had a red chest around my wound for ages. It was due to an infection in the drain tube site, as I had a persistent stromal, and I ended up in hospital for a week after my first chemo. I wasn't responding to 1 IV antibiotic, so they added the heavy artillery antibiotic and I went home on oral antibiotics for the next month. The infection went eventually, but the long term antibiotics caused oral thrush, so every time I had chemo after that I had to use the nilstat oral drops. When you get sick like this, it is disgruntling and frustrating. I lost a lot of confidence and carried my thermometer with me everywhere I went. Just keep persistent with caring for yourself, and get yourself to the hospital if you have a concern. The worst thing that can happen is that they send you home letting you know that you are okay. I hope that your infection resolves soon. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ????
