Hopefully learning more about why some cancers are much more likely to recur would give the researchers directions for treatments that are more effective. That is maybe how we get to stop these cancers once and for all.
Such a complicated disease which is really lots of different sub-types that need different treatments. Rather than concentrating on just the chance of recurrence it gives hope that treatments will be more tailored and effective against the type of bc we have/had.
