I haven’t had a recurrence but had a mastectomy. If you are seeking information on the latter as well as on facing a recurrence, there are a number of tags and sites that may be helpful. There is a special group on reconstruction - I am not on it as I have remained mono-boobed, but I am sure others can assist you to join.
Like me, most find the surgery itself straightforward and not painful. If any nodes are removed, exercising to keep your arm mobility in good condition is probably the most demanding part - and it’s normally not demanding!
There are also a number of threads on this site about feelings over losing a breast - everyone is different. I wasn’t thrilled but not upset. Others have experienced a sense of loss, of femininity. All of these feelings are normal but none should limit your recovery or your zest for life. Best wishes for your surgery and thereafter.
