Hi Ladies,
I survived! Double mastectomy over. One glitch - the sentinel node biopsy didn't happen. The dye wouldn't go through the damaged tissue in my breast (from past radiotherapy). So! I still have all my lymph nodes. Feel uneasy about this. Spoke to surgeon last night and he said there was a 60% chance they were clear, statistically speaking, and I can have them all out or just have regular ultra sounds on them. I have to decide!
Seeing Prof Boyages on Wednesday to get his opinion as he is big on research and treatments.
I had a triple negative, grade 3, 26mm tumour. Probably the worst type. My last cancer was oestrogen receptive.
So now I have to decide what to do. All lymph nodes out or in? One option is to have them out after chemotherapy, when I have reconstrcution later in the year. I'm worried about Lymphodema.
Any advice?
