Reconstructive surgery

Hello all my fellow TNBC friends, I am now 13 months from diagnosis. Mastectomy, full node clearance (1/37), chemo and rads all completed. I got the ball rolling with PS for a new set of girls, only to be told by breast surgeon that I had to wait for a 2 year clearance! This being due to how aggressive the tumour was, mets, size etc blah blah blah.... Am wondering if any other ladies have been told this? I am in Bunbury WA. Xx

  • My daughter lives in Melbourne.. Pascoe Vale South....so,they are telling you the same thing over there. That's good. Have accepted it now but it did piss me off at the time! Xx
  • Yes a bit confusing. Where are you from Dazzza? Wanting to know if this is a common thing or just down here in WA xx

  • Hi paulag I was told the same thing by my breast surgeon, she said we will look at reconstruction when we hit 2 years mark ... I really don't understand why 2 years? If the highest rate of reccurence is between 2 and 3 years and the risk fall after 5 years mark....
