Hey @onemargie, I had a left nipple and skin sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using implant. Was in hospital for 6 days, left hospital with 2 drains. First went 4 days later, 2 moved in and stayed 8 weeks. 2nd would not reduce to the proper level and it turned out it was acting as an irritant and was creating its own fluid (we all want to feel needed!) As for the immediate implant, the most painful thing was along the suture line as I also had a dermal sling put in that holds the implant in place and sentinel node biopsy through the same incision, and also tightness across chest. As soon as my drains left me I was back at work the next day. Drove 2 weeks after surgery. Implant softened around the 10 month mark and now is very soft but without the jiggle of a real breast. I'm rapt with the result but also wear a crop bra if a night time. All the best with your decision. Xx Cath
