Hi Nat,
I know the nurses are very good, but I'm with Jane - I'd be looking to at least speak with your doctor before next week.
I had a whopping blood blister on my non-reconstructed (but reduced and lifted breast) which developed on about day four and grew at a pretty alarming rate. Although my surgeon rushed to the rescue (it was a Sunday) and had it dealt with, I'm now at Week 5 and it's still an open wound. Surgeon scraped it yesterday and prescribed heavy duty creams, so hopefully the wound will start to get with the program now, as it has been extremely tender, swollen and exaggerates the difference between the two breasts (which wasn't obvious before the blood blister erupted).
Mine was a TRAM flap reconstruction and I have some necrosis in a couple of centimetres of the abdominal scar. Again, my surgeon was quick to check this out and his explanation of what was happening and - more importantly - how it would be resolved was really enlightening and reassuring. I won't attempt to paraphrase his advice in case I get it wrong and mislead anyone, but what he told me 10 days ago would start to happen is definitely the case.
I'm sure yours will all work out fine, too, but don't be shy about pressing your doctor for the answers you need.
Very best wishes
Megan
