I don't know all your circumstances regarding your BC or your body type and I don't live in Perth so can't recommend a surgeon, but I do know that implant reconstruction is widely done as I've had it. Last year I had bilateral mastectomies with immediate expander implants put in which were later switched out to silicone.
I recommend that you ask your GP for another referral to see a plastic surgeon who specialises in reconstruction after mastectomy - you need as much information as you can get.
