Recently diagnosed
Hi All,
I've recently been diagnosed with stage II IDC. I had surgery last week to remove lump from my breast and all my lymph nodes under my left arm. I'm home now, but feeling a bit sore and unco...
Hi Nic, and welcome to this site. I'm sorry you have had to start this horrible journey . I also had stage II and grade 2 IDC but thankfully i did not have any node involvement. My cancer was Hormone positive, so my treatment is Tamoxifen for 5 years and zoladex injections for 2 yrs due to being pre-menopausal. Unfortunately this shuts down the ovaries and sends you into early menopause. I had a lumpectomy and a sentinal node clearance. I had 5 weeks of daily radiation but thankfully no chemo for me. I am now due for my 6 mthly checkup to see if everything is still ok.
I was lucky that all my children are adults, not like you having little ones to care for who really can not comprehend what is happening. It must be really hard dealing with little ones along with your own emotions, but it's good to hear that your family and friends have been their for you.
Do you know yet what your treatment plan is, or will you find all that out on Monday? Have your emotions run wild yet or have you been able to keep them under-wrap . I really hope everything goes ok on Monday and make sure you keep in touch . Cheers jo xx
