REALLY heavy period!

Hi Girls

Well after having no periods for a few months I thought that I might not have one again, then BOOM, on Friday night I got it back!  At first it was really light and I didn't think anything of it but on Saturday night I went out to the movies and came back in a mess :(  It had only been just over 2 hours since I had changed my tampon but I was all over the place.  It was horrible!  All day Sunday I was changing tampons every hour and by the evening I thought that it had eased a little.  I got up once in the night but that was all..

Now I am up and about again today and it has come back again with a venegance.  I am barely making it for an hour before I need to change!

Has anyone else had this problem?

I started on Tamoxifen on 24th Jan and have rung my oncologist today to find out if there is anything that I need to do but she isnt' in her office for another hour or so...

I am soooo over my body at the moment.  It just doesn't seem to want to co-operate :(

If anyones got any feedback I would love to hear it..

    Back from hospital and no pain. Not even the period-like cramps that I expected! The surgeon was able to do the ablation which is great news :) He even resected one of the fibroids & thinks he got about 90% of it, so hopefully no more hassles. Stay well everyone, Louise x

    Good luck Louise, hope all goes well and this fixes the problem. God all those transfusions would have been draining. Best of luck.

    Wow,7 is really low- you must be soooo tired.Hope all goes well tomorrow.That operation  is usually very successful and alot easier to recover from.Goodness knows you've had enough surgery and recovering over the last few years.I will be thinking of you Louise.

    Hi louise,

    I went through a similar phase for about a year after starting to take Tomoxifen my periods became very heavy & irregular so much so I didn’t want to go out,  even camping which I love. I ruined sleeping bags sheets etc! I too was told it was ‘normal’. They have settled down now and I miss a period every so often (can’t wait till they stop completely) It’s the hot flushes that are bothering me now! Oh well as I say It could be worse. I’m three years into my journey, all the best for yours, Angela
