Really feel upset; need to talk to someone

I think some people have alot more empathy than others.And that goes for your kids as well.My 2 daughters each reacted differently and I'm not surprised because they have opposite personalities.They demonstrate their care in different ways.One likes long chats ,hugs and kisses and the other hates small talk,suffers hugs.One is very caring and the other is quite self indulgent. I'm very honest and up front with both but I guess I tend  to shield them abit from my low moments.They have busy lives and don't really understand what I've been through-I don't expect them to.Nor do I expect any family or friends to really understand.You just have to forgive them.Try and brush aside well meaning but silly comments.Some friends would look for the positives and say:"at least your alive and cancer free so it doesn't matter about being bald,it'll grow".I was so tempted to say ok,well you go shave your hair off and stay bald for 6mths.Try and cover with scarves or a wig in summer when your hot flushes are rampent from Tamoxifen and then tell me how lucky I am!!!But no, I would just nod and agree cos they meant well.And as for comments like"are you getting the other boob off as well,just incase?"or "are you going for reconstruction and getting new perky boobs?"Close friends didn't ask those questions.Some people have no tact let alone empathy.

Josie,I'm glad your first round of chemo went ok -go the happy pills!!! It's around day 4 that you feel like road kill from a mack truck.I just stayed in bed for a few days - crying and whinging ofcourse! Thinking of you.
