Hi Joy, I am sorry you are having such a rough time and as the other girls have said, we all experience similar things so we do understand. Everyone keeps telling me I have a brilliant attitude, I am really positive so if anyone can beat this I can, that's all well and good for them to say, and I try to hold on to that belief, but sometimes there is this scared little girl inside me, just crying out for someone to tell me it will all be okay. I have so much support it is amazing, from my husband, to my youngest daughter (18 yr old son doesn't say much) to my friends and work colleagues, and yet even with ALL this support I can still feel very alone. It is a personal journey for each of us, we all have differing types of BC, different treatment plans, different side effects and different coping mechanisms, but we are bonded by one thing, yes, we DO have breast cancer and this site is a fantastic place to talk to others, or just blog...they say writing down how you feel is very therapetic, so even if no one ever read this (and we know many do) it would hopefully still act as a release for our inner fears and thoughts.
I am still coming to terms with my BC as it is only 5 weeks since diagnosis, and I know i have a very long road ahead, so I try to live in "day tight compartments" and deal with each day as it comes, rather than try to look too far ahead. We are all grieving, especially at the start, for loss of health, loss of certainties in our life, loss of assumptions, but so many people survive this disease that we have to hold on to the belief we will be one of those survivors. The journey is hard, the mountain hard to climb and who knows what is on the otherside..but we can't give up...the alternatives don't bear thinking about. So, keep on plodding, try to keep smiling, and we are all here if you need us.
Love to all,
Jenny xx
