  • Hi Annie,  Well done , I wondered how you would get this out to everyone.  I'm sure it will be another very useful resource for us all. XLeonie

  • I had my last radiaition treatment yesterday, so the slash, poison and burn is over at last!! They gave me the Hydrocortisone but it didnt stop the itching, im using Diprosone on the rash, its Grade 1 Dermatitis so not too bad and sticking with the Sorbolene on the rest,, seems to work well as apart from the rash on my shoulder Im only a bit red, have had worse sunburn actually!!!

  • Hi Fran,

This is Annie from BCNA's Policy Team. I thought I would let you know that we recently conducted a survey of our Review & Survey Group, on the issue of radiotherapy burns.

The results of the survey are quite interesting and will be available in the upcoming issue of The Beacon (should be in your mailboxe in the next week or so!).  The article includes some great skin care tips that women wanted to share with others, including the use of moisturising creams.

I wonder if your friend Annie is a BCNA member? If not, you might like to share a copy of The Beacon (issue 55) with her, as she may find the skin care advice useful. She can also download her own copy of the magazine in around a week.

    Cheers,

    Annie

  • Yes Fran,  I used this just recently for my radiationtherapy.  I also used Natural Instinct Natural Body Lotion as well.  It worked a treat last time as well.  I use it daily all over and also use it as a make up remover as it it so gentle.  (it has no nasties)XLeonie
