Radiotherapy

Hi I finished radiotherapy end of Jan 2022 after 29 retractions.
The affected breast always feels warmer than the other and I often have a burning sensation in the breast.
Does anyone know if this is "normal:

  • Yes, @lilbets - Yes, that is totally normal.  The warmness can continue for a couple of months or longer ..... I also had the odd 'sharp stabbing pain' as well - I am guessing from nerve endings 'rejoining' after the surgery/rads .... Make sure that you keep up your lotions & potions, keeping the area moist xx

Welcome to the Forum - feel free to tell us some more of your story to now ...... what you were diagnosed with, surgery etc.

You can add your 'town/city' to your profile if you like - then other members in the area may be able to point you to specific services available to you.  If you are rural, you can claim travel/accommodation costs, too.

Check out this post, to show you some other areas on the forum - where you can show off your gardens, pets etc ... and even have a laugh.  Down the bottom is a link to some tick sheets that you can use to formulate some questions to your team as your treatment progresses. xx

Take care & all the best xx
