Radiotherapy week three
Monday-rads on time. See the nurse get growled at for wearing my comfy underwire bra, "darling no underwire! and "why is your port in your right breast, that's where all your treatment is". Now that is a very good question which I will ask my surgeon when I see him next.
Tuesday-rads on time, breast gets that warm feeling again. See the social worker and after a quick chat we both agree I don't need to see her next week.
Wednesday-walk in at 9.15am and discover they are running late (machine breakdown). See physio at 9.35am, talk about pain from the port, works on my shoulder and pectoral muscle, go back to waiting room, waiting, waiting, go the desk enquire. Get in at 10.30am tell them I have an appointment back in Werribee at 11am. Back to Werribee for more physio. Go home make doctors appointment as physio wants an X-ray of my back. Write in my diary and discover I HAVE FORGOTTEN to GO TO WORK (haha I still can't believe it). Have a rest and its the usual Wednesday afternoon drill.
Thursday-get rung by radiotherapy, machine still down and we are cancelling rads for you today. Go to doctors get X-ray referral. This time I actually remember to trot off to work.
Friday-machine still down, relieved to know that I will make up that session at the end of rads. Waiting, go and check at the desk, surprise me senseless allied health (dietician) has cancelled. Back to Werribee have X-rays done and have micro nap waiting while films are checked.
So rads are still going well, found some pure aloe vera gel in my cupboard using that as well, machines are falling apart (joke, parts have to come from USA) and still unimpressed with allied health. Lastly have had saturday through to Wednesday off and feel better for it. Cheryle :)
